Introduction to Music Braille

Description

The BEST Grant is partnering with APH to bring participants a half-day music braille professional development training. Participants will get an introduction to why we should teach music braille, the basics of music braille, discover products for teaching music braille, and learn more about resources for creating music braille.

Audience

Educators and others who work with students who use braille

  • Educators working with students who are potential or current braille users,

  • Additional professional and paraprofessional school staff working with students who are potential or current braille users

  • Parents and family of children who are potential or current braille users


Learning Objectives

The participants will:

  • Discuss why we should teach music braille
  • Understand the basics of music braille
  • Discover products for teaching braille music
  • Identify resources for creating braille music

Contact Hours

Two and a half (2.5) contact hours will be offered for completion of the course

Training is limited to the first 25 participants to register
